Time will need to be allocated for researching the best resources for link building – ‘quality not quantity’ is the mindset you need to apply. When selecting directories look for trusted sources companies, newspapers and high page ranking directories such as dmoz.org or linkopedia.com to mention two.
Of course you could simply type into Google ‘high page ranking directories’ – and you will get a list – but you will still need to go to the directories – to look at important factors: what is the ratio of links approved and awaiting approval, the page rank of the directory, is it relevant to the clients industry and what links is the directory linking out to.
Like everything in life you get what you pay for and you will soon discover the benefits of opting for the other options available when submitting your site to a Search Engine other than the Free Submission Option, these are often Featured Listings and Express Listings. Depending on the Page Rank and relevance to your website you will determine which is the most beneficial to your SEO Campaign at that time.
There are many other ways of building link to your website – such as Article Marketing Sites and the every popular Social Media platforms – not to be overlooked.
An important consideration when linking building is the way that sites link to you especially when paying for the submission – any website using the rel=nofollow tag or a redirect link – will not assist your campaign. In reference to the search engine themselves they will look at the text that links to you – so for example if you are optimizing for SEO Coventry – then a site with the same text or an alt tag – will assist your campaign in regards to ranking for the phrase.
Keeping the above in mind at all times you will be on route to gain decent SERP for client websites – regardless of their industry – with a substantial SEO budget – which will be determined by the competiveness of their keywords.

SEO has existed since the beginning of Search Engines, which makes perfect sense. However the Web was much smaller than it is today – and therefore the technology used by Search Engines was much simpler. With the Internet growing at a dramatic pace – Search Engines found it much harder to differentiate websites based on the content and text alone – as there are so many.
Here is a brief breakdown of the basic On Page SEO elements that a reputable SEO company will undertake that assists the indexing bots when they are trawling your website:
On Page Optimization refers to HTML tags, Bold Tags, Title Tags, Italic tags on a webpage. The HTML tag needs to be distributed on a single page in the correct manner. Using the H1 once for main titles (usually containing your keyword) – then the descending tags should be used as follows on single webpages: <h1> x 1, <h2> x 2, <h3> x 3, <h4> x 4 – and so on.
The other tags need to be used wisely – using Bold on keywords within content that may not have a link – these will also stand out to the bots when your site is been trawled.
Title tags are never to be overlooked – if there’s a link or an image utilize the Title tag. The Italics tag – this can be used in a similar manner to the Bold – highlighting keywords as well as to naturally gain user attention.
Remember On Page SEO – requires the use of thoughtful place of all tags mentioned – and the overuse/misuse of them will always be detrimental to your SEO campaign.
When creating links on your website you need to do it in a natural way for both the visitor and the indexing bot. This way you can avoid keyword stuffing this can cause your website to rank lower in SERP.
